Fun Facts
With Early College High School Online, you can pursue college credit within an accredited college degree granting program.
Our Accrediting Colleges are Southern Utah University and Dixie State University.
We are tuition-free.
We pride ourselves on serving especially those who are underrepresented in higher education.

What is Concurrent Enrollment?
“Concurrent enrollment provides high school students the opportunity to take college-credit bearing courses taught by college-approved high school teachers. It is a low-cost, scalable model for bringing accelerated courses to students in urban, suburban, and rural high schools. Students gain exposure to the academic challenges of college while in their supportive high school environment, earning transcripted college credit at the time they successfully pass the course."

    5. Nearly all of our instructors are also employed as professors and instructors by             Dixie State and Southern Utah Universities.

Academic Year and Courses

Our academic year is divided into two 15-week semesters, plus a week for final exams. Our academic year also includes a 8 week summer semester. For each course you take you should expect to study at least 9 to 10 hours per week. You will need to review all course syllabi, provided notes and texts regularly.

You may be assigned reading and writing which may not be directly addressed in your courses. Remember, YOU are responsible for all assigned material, whether covered in courses or not.

For college / concurrent courses specifically, you must learn to manage your own time. You must balance your responsibilities and set priorities. You are responsible for keeping up with your course work and knowing what it takes to graduate. You are expected to take responsibility for what you do and don't do, as well as the consequences.

We have articulation agreements with regional universities who retroactively assign credit for high school coursework upon matriculation. We greatly value our concurrent enrollment partnerships with regional universities. Our concurrent courses are accredited by
Southern Utah University (SUU) and Dixie State University (DSU).

Keep in mind that applications for SUU and DSU must be completed and mailed by all prospective students.

The ACT Exam

The ACT Exam is not needed to register in our online high school courses. The ACT Exam is not needed to take our college courses accredited by Dixie State University. However, before a college course at Southern Utah University can be taken, students must take the ACT Exam. Keep in mind that our college courses are largely accredited by DSU.

The ACT Exam measures high school students' general educational development and their capability to complete college-level work with the multiple choice tests covering four skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and science. Essentially, ACT scores provide an indicator of a student's college readiness.

The optional Writing Test measures skill in planning and writing a short essay.

The Utah State Office Education mandates the ACT Exam be taken by high school juniors on March 4, 2014. All high schools in Utah will administer the exam on March 4.

Go to the Prospective Students tab and scroll down to Accuplacer to find out more.

3. To register for high school and college courses the forms on the left side of this page must be filled out. Submit the Student Enrollment Form online and submit the SUU or DSU applications online.
